Seminar of the lung research group

Dr. Katherina Sewald from the Fraunhofer Institute for Toxicology and Experimental Medicine in Hanover presents "Integrating Human Lung Tissue into Research and Development". She is an expert in this field and since tissue culture experiments are always a hot topic, we are looking forward to her talk. We hope for a lively participation and a lot of exciting discussion.

Abstract:
Despite a growing appreciation of the value of human-based test methods, much research still relies extensively on the use of experimental animals, although the target for new medicines is man. The talk will focus on challenges, approaches and benefits for the use of human lung tissue ex vivo for drug safety and efficacy in e.g. asthma, COPD, and infection research.
