Young female BREATH scientists receive awards at the DZL Annual Conference

Every year, scientists from the five DZL sites come together to discuss their current research projects and results and to establish new networks. On 23 and 24 January this year, the meeting took place again – this time in Travemünde. As well as scientific presentations on the individual disease areas and superordinate infrastructure projects, young scientists were also given the opportunity to present themselves and their work. They presented their research projects in short talks and on posters and then exchanged views amongst themselves and with experienced colleagues.

Each year, a panel of experts selects the best presentations and posters based on predefined criteria and awards prizes of 500 Euros each. This year, a total of twelve winners were chosen in ten categories. In two of these categories, two first prizes were awarded in each category. Among the twelve winners, five winners came from Hannover.

We are extremely proud of the excellent work carried out at our site and congratulate the winners Valerie Beneke and Charline Sommer (both from Preclinical Pharmacology and Toxicology at Fraunhofer ITEM), Anne Höfer (Institute of Pathology at the MHH), Bin Liu (Clinic of Pulmonary Medicine at the MHH) and Mariel Nöhre (Clinic for Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy at the MHH). In the coming weeks, we will present the award-winning contributions of the young female scientists here on our Homepage.
