Adolf Windorfer Prize awarded to BREATH working group

The microbial metagenome of the lower airways

Dr. Patricia Morán Losada, scientist at the Clinic for Pediatric Pneumology and Neonatology at Hannover Medical School, won the Adolf Windorfer Prize for Research on Cystic Fibrosis. The prize is endowed with 5 000 Euros and was awarded during the annual conference of the Mukoviszidose e.V., the German CF Association in May 2017.

Dr. Losada received this prize for her publication „The cystic fibrosis lower airways microbial metagenome“, which she conducted in the group led by Professor Dr. Tümmler. The work was partially financed by the Mukoviszidose e.V., while the main portion of the budget was contributed by the German Center for Lung Research (DZL). Professor Tümmler’s group is part of the DZL at its partner site BREATH (Biomedical Research in Endstage and Obstructive Lung Disease) in Hannover.
