In 2026, respiratory medicine continues to bring a wealth of new findings, innovations and practice-relevant discussions. The major international and national conferences of the European Respiratory Society (ERS), the American Thoracic Society (ATS) and the German Respiratory Society (DGP) have once again presented a broad range of current developments.

From new insights into asthma, COPD and emphysema, to advances in interstitial lung diseases, pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary embolism, as well as the latest developments in lung cancer, screening and sleep medicine, the topics are diverse and equally relevant to both outpatient and hospital care.
