Special Issue “Development, remodelling and regeneration of the lung” with DZL expertise recently published

In March 2017, a special issue of the scientific journal Cell & Tissue Research with the title “Development, remodelling and regeneration of the lung” was published, with review articles about many important, up-to-date topics on lung research. Two professors, Dr. Matthias Ochs and Dr. Christian Mühlfeld, both scientists at the German Center for Lung Research (DZL) partner site BREATH (Biomedical Reserach in Endstage and Obstructive Lung Disease Hannover), oversaw the compilation of this special issue as guest editors.

In addition to many international leading scientists, several experts from different sites of the DZL contributed to this issue, which features lung development from the unborn to the elderly, remodelling processes caused by environmental influences and diseases, as well as lung regeneration based on stem cell therapy.

„The concentrated expertise of the German Center for Lung Research is impressively shown in this special issue by the large number of authors who are members of the DZL”, indicated Dr. Mühlfeld.
